FAQs

Have a question that isn't answered below?
Contact us and we can answer whatever you're wondering.

Q: Who are your coaching services for?
A: My services are for riders of various skill levels who wish to get into or improve in track riding / road racing, including beginners, intermediate riders, or riders wanting to transition to competitive racing.

Q: Do I need prior racing experience or licences to get coaching?
A: No — you don’t need any racing background to begin. Coaching is intended to help you develop skills, confidence, and understanding. However, as you progress toward racing, certain licences, permits or assessments may be required (via Motorcycling Australia or local clubs).

Q: What types of sessions do you run?
A: I offer:

  • Track day coaching / support (on-track feedback)

  • Familiarisation / introduction sessions for newcomers

  • Technique drills and training

  • Video / data debriefs

  • Ongoing mentoring / progression plans

Q: What do I need to bring / what gear is required?
A: You must bring:

  • A motorcycle that meets scrutineering standards for the track / race bike (or bike approved for track day)

  • Full protective gear (DOT approved helmet, full leathers, gauntlet gloves, above ankle boots, + optional: back protector, etc.)

  • Valid licence / permits / insurance (if required)

  • Basic tools, fluids, tyres, spare parts

  • Hydration, nutrition, physical readiness

Q: How much do your coaching services cost?
A: My rates depend on the type of session, duration, location, and whether video/debrief is included.  You can view my prices here.

Q: What is the cancellation or refund policy?
A: If you cancel with less than 3 days notice, a cancellation fee or deposit may be forfeited. Sessions already completed cannot be refunded. If I need to cancel (e.g. due to weather or safety), I will aim to reschedule. (See full Terms & Conditions for details.)

Q: Do I need to have any particular license / permit / insurance?
A: Yes — depending on the venue and event, you may need to hold a valid motorcycle licence, permit, or be registered with Motorcycling Australia. You should also maintain your own insurance or check liability cover. I hold my own permits and insurance as a Level 2 Coach. Depending on where/what we work with, your initial email brief will include this.

Q: How many riders do you coach at once?
A: For safety, quality, and according to MA coaching guidelines, group sizes are kept manageable. I may coach up to 25 riders as a Level 2 coach,  but I offer one-on-one coaching and I adhere to coach / rider ratios per discipline and venue standards as per Motorcycling Australia guidelines.

Q: What makes you different / why should I choose your coaching?
A: Amongst other things:

  • I am a Level 2 Road Race Coach accredited with Motorcycling Australia, with required permits and insurance

  • There are currently no other Level 2 road-race female coaches in Queensland, and only two female Level 2 coaches in all QLD (but for dirt)

  • I am self-sufficient (bring my own materials, training, video / data tools)

  • I specifically aim to support riders (especially women) entering a traditionally male environment, helping reduce intimidation and build confidence

Q: Can I progress from track riding to competitive racing through your coaching?
A: Yes. I provide a pathway approach: starting with fundamentals, refining technique, building consistency, then guiding you through the licensing/permit, rules, bike prep, and competitive strategies to make the transition smoother. I also have other accredited coaches who are current or retired racers of whom I work closely with to build skills and create racing understanding.

Q: How do I book or engage your services?
A: You can book directly through the website here, or if you're a bit unsure, you can contact me here and provide a bit of information (your experience, bike, goals, location), and I will send you a proposal / quote.

Q: Is my personal data safe with you?
A: Yes — I take privacy seriously. I use secure systems, limit access, comply with applicable privacy laws (Privacy Act / Australian Privacy Principles), and you have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your data (see Privacy Policy).

Q: What happens if bad weather or track closure affects a session?
A: In such cases, I may cancel or postpone a session. Where possible, we’ll reschedule. You won’t be charged for a session that is cancelled by me due to circumstances beyond control.
